President Donald Trump on Wednesday spoke at a rally of supporters with the White House in the background, and again pressed Vice President Mike Pence to block congressional certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
“Mike Pence will have to come through for us and if he doesn’t that will be a sad day for our country,” Trump said.
“If Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election,” Trump said at another point.
Trump said he would support primary challengers for congressional Republicans who don’t back his attempt to alter the results of the election.
Experts say Pence’s role is largely ceremonial. He will preside later Wednesday over the congressional tally of Electoral College votes.
At one point, Trump swore and said there was a lot of “bulls…” going on in the election and his supporters roared.
Trump said it was more important that Biden’s election be overturned in light of the results of the U.S. Senate runoff elections in Georgia.
